Terms of Service

1. Service Description

Sift ("the Service") is an email intelligence application operated by LuminArch LLC ("we", "us", "our"). The Service connects to your Gmail or Outlook account via OAuth to provide priority scoring, auto-categorization, AI-powered summaries, sender insights, and other email management features.

2. Account Requirements

To use Sift, you must have a valid Google (Gmail) or Microsoft (Outlook/Microsoft 365) account. You must be at least 13 years of age. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Sift only for lawful, personal email management. You may not:

  • Use the Service to send spam, phishing emails, or unsolicited bulk messages.
  • Attempt to access another user's data or account.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service.
  • Use the Service to violate any applicable law or regulation.
  • Abuse the Service in a way that degrades performance for other users.
  • Use automated scripts or bots to interact with the Service outside of its intended API.

4. Free and Pro Plans

Sift offers a Free plan and a paid Pro plan. The Free plan includes basic email sync, priority scoring, auto-categorization, and keyboard shortcuts for one email account with a limit of 500 synced emails.

The Pro plan ($12/month, or $8/month billed annually at $96/year) includes unlimited email accounts, unlimited sync, AI-powered summaries and reply drafting, custom topic categories, snooze and reminders, sender insights, action extraction, and priority support. A 14-day free trial is included.

We reserve the right to modify plan features and pricing with 30 days' advance notice. If you cancel your Pro subscription, you will retain access to Pro features until the end of your current billing period, after which your account will revert to the Free plan.

5. Service Availability

We strive to keep Sift available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. The Free plan is provided on a best-effort basis with no service level agreement. Pro plan users receive priority support and we make reasonable efforts to resolve issues promptly. We may perform maintenance that temporarily affects availability, and will provide advance notice when possible.

6. Intellectual Property

LuminArch LLC owns all rights, title, and interest in the Sift service, including its software, design, branding, and documentation. You retain full ownership of your email data and any content you provide to the Service. These Terms do not grant either party any rights to the other's intellectual property except as expressly stated here.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, LuminArch LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising from or related to your use of the Service.

Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

8. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. Upon deletion, all of your data is permanently removed from our systems in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in abusive behavior, or if required by law. If we terminate your account for reasons other than a Terms violation, we will provide at least 30 days' notice and allow you to export your data before termination takes effect.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the Service at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of the updated Terms constitutes your acceptance. If you do not agree with the revised Terms, you may delete your account before they take effect.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Minnesota, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Minnesota.
